Question: I have alumni library lending privileges, but also like to access the Lexis Nexis electronic database.

We are sorry, but in order to comply with the license conditions of the electronic resources the SU Library Service subscribes to, only current registered students and staff members of Stellenbosch University are entitled to off-campus access to the library’s electronic resources via http://library.sun.ac.za  

We receive numerous queries from alumni and external users to obtain off-campus access to the University Library's e-resources.  Even though we would like to accommodate these users (especially the alumni) the Library's academic subscription agreements with publishers and aggregators do not allow for this arrangement.  We are aware that external users and alumni are willing to pay for such an arrangement, but such an arrangement would also not form part of our current academic subscription agreements.

We are truly sorry that we cannot receive your request for off-campus access favourably.
