No it would not be possible. We are aware that external users and alumni are willing to pay for such an arrangement, but such an arrangement would not form part of our current academic subscription agreements.

Due to licensing agreements, off-campus access to the electronic resources the Library pays for is restricted to currently registered students and staff members of Stellenbosch University.

The Library receive numerous queries from alumni and external users to obtain off-campus access to the University Library's e-resources.  Even though we would like to accommodate these users (especially the alumni) the Library's academic subscription agreements with publishers and aggregators do not allow for this arrangement.

A selection of databases are open access databases and journal articles may be downloaded for free. Open access databases are indicated with the icon on the e-database list on our library homepage.

Alumni:
While request from alumni for off-campus access can unfortunately not be received favourably, the Library and Information Service do offers special services and privileges to alumni of the Stellenbosch University. More information is available on the Alumni guide
